Most cosmetic dental practices offer a combining of quick, in-surgery teeth lightening and professional take-home tooth-whitening kits with custom-built trays. Both operations are founded on a decolourise process that uses a peroxide-based compound of varying strength (3%-30% peroxide). The higher the density of peroxide in the compound, the more powerful the discolorise compound is. While this makes it to a greater extent efficient at whitening the teeth, it also carries bigger potential to cause damage to the surrounding gum tissue and your mouth.
